What to expect at a well-woman exam?
A well-woman visit is a yearly checkup focused on disease prevention and your long-term health. It’s separate from visits for illness or injury and gives you time to ask questions and focus on your health goals.
Goals of the visit:

- Complete a physical exam

What to expect:
- Review of your health, medications, and vaccination history
- Family planning

- Symptom-based counseling
- Physical exam and, if needed, lab tests
Your physical exam may include:
- Height, weight, and blood pressure
- Breast exam to check for changes in skin texture, shape, nipple discharge, and lumps
- Pelvic exam to check for labia, vaginal, cervical, uterine, and ovarian abnormalities
- Preventive health screenings (based on age and history)
